Help keeping the Aeolian Islands clean! The volcanic archipelago of the Aeolian Islands is of an extraordinary natural and geological beauty. It's so unique and valuable that UNESCO inscribed the Aeolian Islands on the World Heritage List in the year 2000, as a biosphere reserve as well as a cultural heritage.
Plastic pollution. Unfortunately large amounts of plastic pollution from the sea spoil the splendid coasts of the Aeolian Islands. Every year again.
Beach Clean-up. We, Canoa Kayak Club Aeolian Islands, keep on fighting against the pollution of the Aeolian Islands with our yearly 'Eco Kayak' Beach Clean-up event. Each spring, we use our kayaks to reach and clean (deserted) beaches. Also from land we reach spots to be cleared from plastic pollution. Of course we can't do this important job on our own. With an enthusiastic group of international volunteers we're going to clean the beaches, having a great time together at the same time.
